Operations Manager Yeadon, Leeds (Covering Projects from Manchester to Newcastle) £50,000 - £60,000 + Company Car, Laptop & Mobile Phone Full-Time | Permanent The Opportunity Our client, a growing and highly successful fit-out and refurbishment contractor, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to play a key role in the continued growth of the business as it targets an ambitious turnover of £8 million by 2027. This is a predominantly strategic and oversight-focused position, managing a portfolio of live projects and supporting Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest standards. You'll act as the key operational link between project delivery teams and the company directors, helping to drive performance and maintain excellent client relationships. The Role As Operations Manager, you will oversee between 2 and 10 live projects at any one time, with project values ranging from £50,000 to £500,000. This is a hands-off management role where your focus will be on supporting Project Managers, maintaining operational control, and ensuring company standards are met across all projects. Key Responsibilities Oversee multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects across the North of England Allocate and distribute projects to Project Managers based on workload and project requirements Act as the primary operational point of contact for Project Managers Ensure projects are progressing in line with programme, budget, quality and client expectations Monitor performance across all live projects and identify risks before they become issues Ensure approved subcontractors and supply chain partners are utilised on projects Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to secure repeat business opportunities Conduct regular site visits, typically one day per week Provide weekly progress and performance reports to the Director Support continuous improvement and implementation of company processes and procedures Assist in achieving the company's growth objectives through effective operational leadership What We're Looking For Essential Experience Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Contracts Manager, Senior Project Manager or similar leadership role within construction or fit-out Strong background managing multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously Experience within commercial fit-out, refurbishment or construction environments Proven ability to manage project teams and drive programme performance Experience overseeing project values ranging from £50k to £500k Full UK Driving Licence Key Skills Excellent organisational and planning abilities Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Commercial awareness and sound decision-making capability Ability to prioritise and manage multiple concurrent projects Strong reporting and leadership skills Experience building and maintaining long-term client relationships Personal Attributes Calm and composed under pressure Able to successfully "spin multiple plates" in a fast-moving environment Pragmatic and solution-focused approach Strong leadership presence without the need for micromanagement Adaptable and able to embrace company culture and ways of working Professional, driven and highly accountable Location & Travel This role is based close to Yeadon, Leeds, with responsibility for projects located across: Leeds Manchester Sheffield York Durham Newcastle and surrounding areas Regular travel to project sites will be required.
