Cover Supervisor

Location: Birmingham 🏫 School: Mainstream Secondary School 📅 Start: Immediate / ASAP ⏰ Contract: Day-to-day and longer-term opportunities available Colmore Education are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to work within a mainstream secondary school in Birmingham. We are looking for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor who can maintain a positive learning environment and confidently manage classes in the absence of the usual teacher. The Role As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for: * Supervising students across KS3 and KS4 during lessons. * Delivering pre-set work and ensuring students remain focused and engaged. * Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies. * Building positive relationships with students and staff. * Supporting a calm, safe and productive learning environment. * Providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate. The Ideal Candidate The successful Cover Supervisor will ideally have: * Previous experience working with secondary-aged students. * Strong classroom and behaviour management skills. * The confidence to supervise classes independently. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * A professional, reliable and positive approach. * The ability to adapt to different subjects and year groups. Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Sports Coach or in another education-based role would be advantageous. Why Work with Colmore Education?
