SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH in Southwark £93 - £105 per day. Salary depends on qualifications and experience. Start date: 19 October 2026 | full-time, long-term, temporary Hours: Term time, 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Help pupils find a way back into learning when emotions get in the way. You will offer consistent support for children with SEMH needs, helping them practise coping strategies, build trusting relationships and experience achievable success in school. Key responsibilities Build consistent, trusting relationships with pupils Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour using agreed strategies Help pupils access learning through manageable tasks and encouragement Record observations and report concerns promptly to the appropriate staff Role requirements Experience supporting children with SEMH or related behavioural needs A calm approach to challenging situations and clear professional boundaries Strong teamwork and a willingness to follow individual support plans A commitment to safeguarding and an enhanced DBS check appropriate to the role, or willingness to complete one.
