SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD in Croydon £93 - £105 per day. Salary depends on qualifications and experience. Start date: 19 October 2026 | full-time, long-term, temporary Hours: Term time, 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Help autistic pupils make sense of classroom routines and take part in learning with greater confidence. You will use clear communication, patient encouragement and individual support strategies, noticing the small adjustments that make a real difference. Key responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small-group support under teacher guidance Use visual prompts, clear language and agreed communication strategies Support transitions, sensory regulation and participation in activities Share observations with teachers and the SENCO to inform next steps Role requirements Experience supporting autistic children in an educational setting A calm, patient approach and understanding of individual sensory needs Confidence following support plans and working closely with colleagues A commitment to safeguarding and an enhanced DBS check appropriate to the role, or willingness to complete one.
