The Role - Maths Teaching Assistant A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in the London Borough of Enfield is seeking to appoint a dedicated Maths Teaching Assistant to join its support team on a long-term basis starting ASAP. As the successful Maths Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students across KS3 and KS4, providing classroom, small-group and one-to-one support. A key part of the role will involve supporting students with their Maths learning, helping them to understand the curriculum, complete classwork and build their confidence within the subject. You will also support students with their behaviour, helping them to remain focused, engaged and positively involved in lessons. You will work closely with the Maths department and wider pastoral team to ensure students receive the appropriate academic and behavioural support. Previous experience working within education is desirable, along with experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs. Experience supporting students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be patient, resilient, proactive and confident in building positive relationships with young people. Strong communication skills and an ability to support both learning and behaviour are essential.
