HGV Technician Salary: Up to £51,480 per annum (including standard/alternate Saturday overtime) + Non-Contractual Profit Share Location: Leeds Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 17:00 (Includes contracted alternate Saturday mornings) About Us Established in 1957, we are a leading commercial vehicle rental specialist operating over 2,000 vehicles across 5 modern, fully equipped workshops. We pride ourselves on exceptional vehicle standards and first-time-fix reliability. The Role Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will inspect, service, diagnose, and repair a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles (including 1,100+ heavy vehicles over 3.5 tonnes) to manufacturer standards. Key Responsibilities * Carry out safety inspections, routine servicing, and general mechanical repairs safely and efficiently. * Investigate, diagnose faults using modern diagnostic systems, and order parts effectively. * Ensure all work meets strict safety and quality compliance, adopting a hands-on, right-first-time approach. Requirements * Qualifications: City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or time-served equivalent). IRTEC accreditation is highly desirable. * Experience: Proven technical experience working on HGVs. * Skills: Strong fault-finding abilities, flexibility, and a collaborative team attitude. Desirable Qualifications * Experience with hydraulics, cranes, tippers, tipper grabs, or beaver tails. * Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) license (Standard car license holders considered). Earnings Breakdown * Basic Pay (40 hrs @ £18.00/hr): £37,440 * Standard Overtime (7.5 hrs avg @ £27.00/hr): £10,530 * Alternate Saturdays (5 hrs x 26 wks @ £27.00/hr): £3,510 * Total Average Annual Earnings: £51,480 Benefits * Company profit share scheme (following qualifying period) * 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays * Contributory pension scheme * Death in Service benefit (2x annual salary) * Free parking, onsite kitchen facilities, and an onsite gym
