Job Title Reports To Estimating Manager Location Sales Director Field/office-based near Bristol, Birmingham or Manchester, with regular travel to head office (Bristol / Warmley) and the Stoke-on-Trent office, plus site visits as required Salary Employment Type Competitive, dependent on experience Full-time, permanent My Client is a commercial refurbishment contractor with a head office in Bristol (Warmley) and a second office in Stoke-on-Trent. They deliver refurbishment projects ranging from £50,000 to £5 million across the UK. Role Purpose We are recruiting an Estimating Manager to take ownership of day-to-day estimating, supporting the pre construction and business development team as the company scales its sales pipeline. This is a hands-on role, taking projects from enquiry through to tender submission, working closely with the Sales Director and the BDM team. We have extensive experience across a wide range of sectors, including Hotels & Leisure, Student Accommodation, Education, Nurseries & Early Years, Healthcare & Care Homes, Retail, Commercial & Office, Residential/HMO, and Sports & Leisure facilities. Our broad sector experience enables us to provide a flexible, turnkey approach, successfully delivering projects in both live and vacant environments for national operators, developers and public-sector clients. Key Responsibilities • Manage the day-to-day estimating function for commercial refurbishment projects ranging from £50k to £5m • Produce accurate, competitive cost estimates and tender submissions within deadline • Carry out measured take-offs and quantity surveying using Bluebeam • Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, building and maintaining a trusted supply chain • Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation to identify scope, risk and value-engineering opportunities • Work closely with the Sales Director and BDM team (business development) to support the pursuit of new opportunities and conversion of the sales pipeline • Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings as required • Maintain estimating records, cost data and benchmarking to improve future pricing accuracy • Support a smooth handover from estimating to the delivery/operations team on successful bids Experience & Skills Required • Proven experience estimating commercial refurbishment projects (essential) • Experience estimating projects across a range of values, from c.£50k up to £5m • Proficient in Bluebeam for take-offs and measurement (essential) • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and specifications relevant to refurbishment • Confident building relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and clients • Well organised, able to manage multiple live tenders and deadlines at once • Willingness to travel regularly between Bristol/Warmley, Stoke-on-Trent and site locations Location & Travel This role can be based near Bristol, Birmingham or Manchester, with regular travel to the Bristol/Warmley head office and the Stoke-on-Trent office, alongside site visits across current and prospective project locations
