School CaretakerSunderland Full-Time Long-Term Temporary ASAP Start Hays Education are seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join a welcoming school in Sunderland on a long-term temporary basis, starting as soon as possible.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker, facilities assistant, or site supervisor who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented school environment. Working Hours Monday to Thursday: 7:00am to 3:00pm Friday: 7:00am to 2:30pmKey Responsibilities Opening and securing the school premises each day Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repair work Ensuring the school grounds and buildings are clean, safe, and well-maintained Conducting regular health and safety checks Supporting with room setups for meetings, events, and school activities Monitoring contractors and visitors on site Reporting maintenance issues and liaising with relevant contractors where required Assisting with emergency call-outs and site security when necessaryThe Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous experience in a caretaker, facilities, maintenance, or site management role Knowledge of health and safety procedures within a school or similar environment Practical DIY and maintenance skills The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively A flexible and proactive approach to work Excellent reliability and timekeepingEssential Requirements✅ Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
