Senior Transmission Test & Development Engineer Location: Near Leamington Spa Job Type: Permanent Syntech Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Senior Transmission Test & Development Engineer to join an established engineering business near Leamington Spa. This is a hands-on test and development role focused on gearboxes, transmissions, driveline and powertrain systems. You will be responsible for planning and carrying out test programmes, operating test rigs and dynos, analysing test data and supporting the development and validation of transmission systems. Applicants must have previous test or development experience involving transmissions, gearboxes, driveline or powertrain systems. This is not a software testing position. What’s in it for you? * £52,000 – £60,000 salary * Permanent position * Senior technical role within transmission and driveline engineering * Hands-on involvement in test and development programmes * Work across mechanical and electrified powertrain systems Senior Transmission Test & Development Engineer Duties * Lead testing and development of transmissions, gearboxes and driveline systems. * Plan and carry out test programmes covering performance, efficiency, durability and NVH. * Operate transmission and powertrain test rigs / dynamometers. * Set up test equipment, instrumentation, sensors and data acquisition systems. * Assemble, install and align transmission systems onto test rigs. * Analyse test data and identify performance or reliability issues. * Investigate component and system failures and support root cause analysis. * Develop and improve test methods, procedures and test facilities. * Support validation of new transmission and driveline designs. * Produce technical reports and clearly communicate test results. * Work closely with Design, Development and Manufacturing Engineering teams. * Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers within the test function. Senior Transmission Test & Development Engineer Requirements * Previous experience within transmission, gearbox, driveline or powertrain test and development. * Strong mechanical engineering background. * Experience working with test rigs, dynos or similar mechanical test equipment. * Understanding of transmission and driveline systems and components. * Experience with instrumentation and data acquisition. * Ability to analyse test data and diagnose mechanical or system issues. * Experience carrying out performance, durability or validation testing. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. * Automotive, motorsport, transmission, gearbox or specialist powertrain experience would be highly advantageous. * Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent experience within Mechanical, Automotive or a related engineering discipline
