Senior Accountant Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire Salary: £38,000-£45,000 depending on experience Hours: 37.5 hours per week; part time hours considered Contract: Permanent, full-time or part-time Working arrangement: Office-based The opportunity We are recruiting for an established independent accountancy practice in Wellingborough. The business is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with several years' practice experience, strong year-end accounts knowledge and the confidence to manage work across a varied client portfolio. Formal qualifications are not essential where the right practical experience is in place. Qualified, part-qualified and qualified-by-experience candidates will all be considered, and there is flexibility around hours for the right person. The role ·         Prepare year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients. ·         Manage client work accurately and within agreed deadlines. ·         Liaise directly with clients regarding accounts and queries. ·         Take on work currently handled at Partner level. ·         Potentially review work prepared by other team members. ·         Maintain accurate client records and work closely with the wider practice team. ·         Use systems including IRIS, Xero, Workiro and Microsoft 365. About you ·         Several years' experience within an accountancy practice. ·         Strong hands-on experience preparing year-end accounts. ·         A sound technical accounting background and experience with a varied client base. ·         Confidence managing your own workload, deadlines and client communication. ·         IRIS and Xero experience required. ACA or ACCA qualification would be advantageous but is not required. Strong practice experience and a good technical CV are the priority. What the company offers ·         £38,000-£45,000 salary depending on experience. ·         37.5-hour standard working week with flexibility around hours. ·         Part-time / working-parent hours considered for the right candidate. ·         Established local practice with the opportunity to take on higher-level client work. ·         Office-based position in Wellingborough with an ASAP start preferred.
