Evolve Staffing Ltd. is currently executing a targeted medical recruitment search for a Specialist Registrar (SpR) in Ophthalmology to join a thriving NHS trust in Bristol. This middle-grade position requires a highly competent ophthalmologist capable of independent clinical decision-making and proficient surgical intervention. As an SpR, you will play a crucial role in managing a diverse caseload of acute and chronic eye conditions, running specialized medical retina and glaucoma clinics, and supporting the surgical roster in a modern NHS environment. Core Clinical Responsibilities: * Lead independent outpatient ophthalmology clinics, managing conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. * Perform routine ophthalmic surgeries, notably phacoemulsification (cataract surgery), under the supervision or mentorship of a Consultant. * Act as the senior clinician on-call for acute ophthalmic emergencies, providing expert guidance to SHOs and nursing staff. * Participate heavily in departmental clinical governance, morbidity and mortality (M&M) meetings, and medical research.
