Job Role: Residential Childcare Trainer Assessor Also considering Deputy Managers, Registered Managers & Senior Residential Childcare Practitioners seeking a career change Location: West of England (Hybrid with Regional Travel) Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Role Overview Are you an experienced Residential Childcare professional looking to step away from shift work, sleep-ins and on-call responsibilities whilst remaining within a sector you're passionate about? We are recruiting a motivated and supportive Residential Childcare Trainer Assessor to deliver and assess Level 4 and Level 5 Residential Childcare qualifications across the West of England region. This is an excellent opportunity for an existing Trainer Assessor, but we are equally keen to hear from experienced Registered Managers, Deputy Managers, Team Leaders and Senior Residential Childcare Practitioners who are looking to transition into Learning & Development. As a Residential Childcare Trainer Assessor, you will support learners throughout their qualification journey, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress within the Residential Childcare sector while maintaining the highest standards of care and practice. If you have strong sector experience but no assessing qualification, full support will be provided to gain the Level 3 CAVA qualification. Key Responsibilities Teaching, Learning & Assessment Deliver and assess Residential Childcare qualifications up to Level 5 Support learners throughout their apprenticeship and qualification journey Deliver a combination of remote and face-to-face learning and assessment activity Support learners to develop occupational competence, confidence and professional behaviours Encourage best practice and continuous professional development Learner Management & Progression Manage a caseload of approximately 50 learners Complete learner reviews, assessments and progress meetings Develop and maintain Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) Provide coaching, mentoring and developmental feedback Drive learner engagement, achievement and timely completions Employer Engagement Build strong relationships with employers and workplace managers Support employers in understanding apprenticeship and qualification requirements Work collaboratively to promote learner progression and achievement Identify and address barriers to learning and completion Quality, Compliance & Administration Maintain learner records and e-portfolio documentation Ensure delivery meets awarding body, funding and compliance requirements Participate in quality assurance and standardisation activities Work towards achievement, retention and completion targets Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion throughout delivery Essential Criteria Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or above Experience working within Residential Childcare settings Experience as a: Registered Manager Deputy Manager Team Leader Senior Residential Support Worker Trainer Assessor Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to manage workloads and work towards targets Excellent organisational and time-management skills Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the region Desirable Criteria Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/33 or equivalent assessor qualification Experience delivering apprenticeships or funded learning programmes IQA qualification Experience using e-portfolio systems Previous Trainer Assessor experience No Assessing Qualification?
