Shift Engineer

We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a food manufacturer for a skilled Maintenance Engineer. This role involves providing both electrical and mechanical support across the site, combining hands-on maintenance with continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime and optimise performance. The ideal candidate would be strongly multiskilled and have experience in food or wider FMCG. Nights Maintenance Engineer Salary: £60,683.13 Location: Peterborough Shift Pattern: 7 night shifts every 14 days Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair a wide range of manufacturing equipment used in FMCG production whilst complying with health and safety requirements. Perform both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, with a strong focus on minimising downtime Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across operations Conduct fault finding on both electrical and mechanical systemsRequirements: Previous experience in a similar role (e.g. Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Shift Engineer, Engineering Technician, Maintenance Technician, or Electrical Maintenance Engineer) Formal qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds), supported by relevant training and experience Experience in fast paced industries such as food, packaging or wider FMCG.
