Workshop electrical & mechanical assembly technicians Windspeed Ltd is an established UK manufacturer of precision meteorological sensors. Assembly technician role This is a permanent weekday role in a modern spacious workshop that has a good work-life balance. It involves manufacturing and refurbishing our high spec industry grade sensors. The position would suit a workshop assembler looking for a stable long term role working fixed, flexible hours in a close knit team. Key responsibilities: * complete assembly production plan while attaining right first time quality * Mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies * Basic knowledge of electrical circuits, electronic components and fault finding. Use of digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies and associated equipment * Manual soldering of through-hole and surface mount components to PCBs, using ‘pencil’ type soldering irons and manual re-work techniques * Cutting, assembly and termination of cable assemblies * Component testing * Ensure compliance with H&S, quality and operational procedures * Report quality concerns promptly Assembly technician requirements Previous relevant experience in a high quality workshop and excellent employer reference including attendance and punctuality.
