The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in Newcastle. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team. Shifts: Monday to Friday Hours : 09:00am start Pay Rate: £15.28 per hour PAYE rising to £16.36 after 12 weeks Location: Newcastle, NE37 Job Type: Ongoing The role: · Collections and deliveries - up to 20 stops max. . Manual handling required as drivers will assist with loading and unloading parcels at depots and customers locations. · Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely Collections / deliveries. .Operating devices and company software to update delivery status and to communicate with the depot. · Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards. · Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road. · Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups. Requirements: · Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E). · Have at least 12 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle. · Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card. · No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only). · Full understanding of WTD legislation. · Excellent communication skills. · A safety-first mindset.
