We are looking for an ambitious engineer with around two years of product development experience to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team to design, debug, and bring new hardware systems to life. Key Responsibilities * Hardware Design: Create analogue and digital circuits, schematic captures, and PCB layouts using Altium Designer. * Testing & Bring-Up: Conduct circuit simulation, bench testing, debugging, and initial board bring-up using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and spectrum analysers. * Prototyping: Perform hands-on prototyping, board modifications, and precision soldering down to 0402 components. * System Integration: Work with common communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet) and collaborate across software, mechanical, and systems teams. * Lifecycle & Manufacturing Support: Support products from initial concept through to production, investigating hardware faults and implementing corrective actions alongside manufacturing. * Documentation: Maintain thorough records of designs, test procedures, and engineering changes. Required Experience * Education: First-Class Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering (or a related discipline) from a recognised UK university. * Experience: Approximately 2 years of professional engineering experience in a product development environment. * EDA Tools: Practical experience using Altium Designer for schematics and layout. * Analogue Circuitry: Background in analogue design and simulation (e.g., amplifiers, signal conditioning, filters). * Bench & Rework Skills: Proven hands-on debugging skills and practical soldering/modification abilities for prototyping. * Protocols & Delivery: Familiarity with common interface protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet) and an understanding of full product lifecycle processes. Desirable Skills * Experience with STM32 microcontrollers and development environments. * Knowledge of EMC design practices and compliance processes. * Exposure to embedded software development or working within regulated/safety-critical environments.
