Freelance Site Engineer

Kenton Black are recruiting for a Freelance Site Engineer on behalf of a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor within the Aberdeenshire area. Role: Freelance Site Engineer Location: Peterhead Duration: 6 Months+ Start Date: ASAP Rate: Competitive CIS/Ltd Company Rate (Dependent on Experience) Our client, a reputable infrastructure contractor, is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support ongoing substation works in Peterhead. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major energy project, where you will play a key role in setting out, quality assurance, and ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with project specifications. Key Responsibilities: - Carry out setting out and surveying duties for substation and associated civil engineering works - Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and project requirements - Maintain accurate site records including as-built information, quality documentation, and daily reports - Support the site management team with planning and coordination of site activities - Liaise with subcontractors and project stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of works - Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with project standards - Promote and maintain strong health & safety standards across the site - Assist in resolving technical issues and provide engineering support throughout the project Requirements: - Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering, infrastructure, or substation projects - Proficient in setting out using Leica, Trimble, or equivalent surveying equipment - Strong understanding of QA procedures and engineering documentation - Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications - Excellent communication and organisational skills - Valid CSCS Card - SSSTS or SMSTS preferred - Full UK Driving Licence Why Apply?
