CNC Programmer / Setter The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and preparing CNC milling jobs, ensuring components are manufactured accurately and efficiently to drawing specifications. Key Responsibilities * Programme and set CNC milling machines using Siemens ShopMill. * Write CNC programmes from scratch, working from engineering drawings with minimal supervision. * Accurately interpret technical drawings, tolerances and specifications. * Set up and prove out jobs, ensuring tooling, programmes and cutting conditions are suitable. * Prepare jobs for machine operators to run independently. * Check and inspect your own work to ensure components meet drawing requirements. * Select appropriate tooling and machining strategies. * Apply a strong understanding of machining processes, feeds, speeds and cutting conditions. * Manage your own workload and priorities while maintaining high standards of quality. Essential Requirements * Minimum 3 years' experience in CNC programming and setting. * Strong experience with Siemens ShopMill. * Proven ability to write CNC programmes from scratch. * Confident working independently from engineering drawings. * Strong understanding of technical drawings, tolerances and inspection requirements. * Experience setting up jobs for machine operators to run independently. * Good knowledge of machining processes, tooling and cutting conditions. * Ability to work independently and maintain a high standard of quality and accuracy
