2nd Line Support Engineer – Contract Location: Hereford ( 1 day a week in office) Contract: 3 Months Rate: £180–£250 per day Job Type: Full-Time Contract About the Role Our client is looking for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their IT Service Desk on an initial 3-month contract. You'll provide professional, customer-focused 1st and 2nd line technical support across a large and varied user base, supporting desktop, mobile, hardware, software and network environments. This is a varied role offering exposure to a broad range of technologies and client environments, with the opportunity to contribute to IT projects and ongoing service improvements. What You'll Do * Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support via telephone and remote support * Resolve incidents, problems and service requests within agreed SLAs * Support desktop, laptop, mobile and other end-user devices * Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues * Support Windows desktop and server environments * Administer user network and application accounts * Install, configure and maintain software and desktop components * Support networking, internet connectivity and back-office systems * Assist with IT projects, deployments and technical changes * Maintain accurate asset, licence and support documentation * Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and external support organisations * Identify recurring technical issues and contribute to service improvements * Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the team when required What We're Looking For * Proven experience in a 2nd Line IT Support / Service Desk role * Strong desktop hardware and software troubleshooting skills * Experience supporting Windows environments * Knowledge of Windows Server and networking * Experience with user and network account administration * Good understanding of IT security and data protection * Strong customer service and communication skills * Ability to manage your own workload and work to agreed SLAs * Experience working across multiple sites or customer environments would be beneficial Why Join? * £180–£250 per day * Initial 3-month contract * Varied technical environment * Exposure to desktop, server, network and infrastructure technologies * Opportunity to contribute to technical projects and service improvements * Customer-focused and collaborative IT environment Apply now if you're an experienced 2nd Line Engineer available for your next contract opportunity
