Public Sector Procurement Manager

Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading public sector client to recruit for a Procurement Manager. The role: You will be tasked with managing end to end procurement and contract management activities associated with tender management and contract management disciplines. Key responsibilities You will manage sub-categories of spend whilst supporting best practice for your spend area. You will implement the category strategy through proactive management of projects involving multiple stakeholders and teams. You will deliver robust processes and plans, helping implement procurement process. You will support change within your category, whilst also supporting the wider transformation of the procurement department. You will provide procurement and commercial advice in relation to projects and contracts in your category. You will be responsible for managing risk and ensuring your supply base performs as contractually agreed. You will support the end-to-end procurement process within your category. Skills and experience: CIPS qualified and working towards MCIPS would be preferable, or equivalent qualification or experience. Understanding of supplier management. Demonstrable experience of delivering total cost of ownership savings. Experience of delivering and implementing category and sourcing strategies, supporting the delivery of multiple strategies for various sub-categories. Experience of supervising a team. Knowledge and experience of public procurement regulations and processes (e.g. Procurement Act 2023, PCR2015, Health and Care Act 2022 Provider Selection Regime), using Government procurement frameworks and leading competitive tenders.INDPRO 52159DH The Portfolio Group are acting on behalf of our client in recruiting for this position
