We’re recruiting for a Manual Machining Engineer to join a well-established engineering business in the Swadlincote area. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong background in manual/conventional machining, who is confident working from engineering drawings and producing accurate components using traditional machine tools. You’ll be working Monday to Friday on a regular day shift, with pay of £15–£20 per hour depending on experience. The role * Manual turning and milling * Operating conventional lathes and milling machines * Producing components from engineering drawings * Setting machines, selecting tooling and machining to required tolerances * Using verniers, micrometers and other measuring equipment * Checking completed components for quality and accuracy * Supporting general workshop and engineering activities where required We’re looking for * Previous manual machining experience * Experience with manual lathes and/or milling machines * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings * Good understanding of tolerances and precision measurement * Mechanical engineering or machining background * Apprentice-trained or engineering qualifications would be advantageous This could suit a Manual Machinist, Manual Turner, Manual Miller, Toolroom Engineer, Conventional Machinist or Mechanical Engineer with strong machining experience.
