Graduate Estimator / Design Engineer

Graduate Estimator / Designer Position: Graduate Estimator / Designer Location: Alva, Clackmannanshire Salary: £30,000 Working Arrangement: Office based Employment Type: Permanent Trainee Estimator / Designer is required in Alva, Clackmannanshire for our client. Working within a specialist engineering business designing and installing laboratory gas systems throughout the UK, this role offers structured training across technical design, estimating and commercial documentation. You'll support the preparation of technical drawings, bills of quantities and quotations, interpreting customer requirements, specifications, drawings and site-survey information to produce accurate technical and commercial proposals. Trainee Estimator / Designer Job Overview Interpret customer requirements from specifications, drawings, site-survey information and related documentation Use AutoCAD to prepare and amend technical drawings for specialist gas-system installations Identify the products, materials and labour required for individual projects Prepare bills of quantities, cost estimates and quotations Assist with client-facing technical and commercial documentation Manage an enquiry workload and ensure deadlines are met Develop a working knowledge of regulations and standards relating to compressed gases Liaise with colleagues, clients and suppliers to clarify technical information Trainee Estimator / Designer Job Requirements HNC, HND or higher qualification in Engineering, Design or a closely related discipline Experience using AutoCAD, including experience gained through college or higher education Ability to read and interpret engineering or construction drawings Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Excel Strong numerical ability with a methodical and detail-focused approach Clear written and verbal communication skills Graduate/entry-level candidates are suitable; previous estimating, design, construction or engineering experience is desirable Experience preparing bills of quantities, quotations or technical documentation would be beneficial Trainee Estimator / Designer Salary & Benefits Salary: £30,000 Holiday entitlement: 34 days, including nine public holidays Private healthcare Workplace pension Free on-site parking Working hours: Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.15pm Working arrangement: Office based Structured training and opportunities for progression within a growing specialist business Bennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
