Job Description: Mechanical Engineer Location: Stafford Contract: 6 months from start date Scope: Inside IR35, full-time onsite Overview: You will be part of a team that will handle a wide range of equipment within the GSE. You will assist in a variety of roles including planned/Ad-Hoc advanced repairs, using various sources such as Approved Source Information (ASI) or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) data. Key services include. Surveying, repair, general maintenance, recommendations for modifications, you will take pride in adhering to schedules and budgets offering expertise in resolving Urgent Operational Requirements (UORs) for equipment lacking OEM support. Duties: * Perform self-directed Test; Diagnostics; Repair; Maintenance; Modification; Calibration and Manufacture of Equipment down to module / individual component level using approved Engineering Documentation and techniques. * Hold Self-Certification; Over-Signing; Certifying & Conditioning of Equipment Responsibilities (for example: Serviceable / Unserviceable / Scrap). * Supervision; Training and Over-Signing of Junior / Equivalent grade Staff & Apprentices. * Carry out Feasibility and Development activity, including the Reverse Engineering and Creation of supporting engineering documentation / Test Procedures. * Use a combination of different IT software. * Provide Specialist Advice as required. * Work within a scheme of Engineering Governance and comply with all policy and legislation. * Person specification * Previous experience in schedule maintenance and repair. Must hold the below qualifications or is able to demonstrate equivalent experience: * Holds eligibility to meet the criteria of professional Registration of EngTech, in accordance with the UK-SPEC. * Level 4 qualification and advanced/higher apprenticeship; or Level 3 qualification, a nationally recognised engineering apprenticeship and some engineering experience within their discipline or specialism area
