Contractor Vacancy: Control Systems Engineer Industry: Advanced Engineering / Medical & Scientific Cooling Location: Maldon, UK - On-site Duration: 6 Months Rate: £45-50 per hour Outside IR 35 The Role A leading innovator in cooling technology is seeking an experienced Contract Controls Design Engineer for an on-site project in Maldon. Operating within an Agile R&D environment, you will design control algorithms, build high-fidelity simulations, and integrate hardware to optimise ultra-low temperature refrigeration systems. Key Responsibilities Algorithm Design: Develop and implement PID and advanced control strategies for precise temperature regulation. Modeling & Simulation: Build, calibrate, and validate system models using MATLAB/Simulink to minimize physical prototyping. System Integration: Connect control software with sensors, actuators, and refrigeration hardware. Data Optimisation: Analyse performance data to improve system robustness, sustainability, and efficiency. Compliance & Docs: Maintain technical specs and control logic descriptions compliant with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.Requirements Degree in Control Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. Proven contract experience in control systems design and system dynamics. Advanced proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent modeling tools. Experience with embedded or industrial control software integration. Ability to work full-time on-site in Maldon, UK
