Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager - One North Quay (Life Science Facility) Canary Wharf, London | Permanent | Up to £95k (SQS) / Up to £108k (CM) + Benefits Our client, a leading main contractor, is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor - or a Commercial Manager for the right candidate - to join their team on a landmark life science facility at One North Quay, Canary Wharf. You'll take ownership of commercial management on a high-profile life science build, working closely with the operational team to protect and maximise contractual entitlements. Depending on experience, this role could suit someone ready to step up into a Commercial Manager position. Key Responsibilities * Promote a safety-first culture across all project activities * Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and company processes * Understand contract terms and manage commercial risks and opportunities under a bespoke contract (similar in structure to JCT) * Maintain accurate records to support contractual entitlements * Prepare and submit applications, securing payment and variations * Manage subcontract accounts through to final account * Monitor progress and provide accurate commercial reporting * Support negotiation and settlement of the final account with the client * For CM-level candidates: broader oversight of the commercial team and project commercial strategy What We're Looking For * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within commercial/complex build environments * Experience working on life science, laboratory, or high-specification technical builds is highly advantageous * Degree/HNC level qualification and/or significant relevant experience * Experience managing change and subcontract accounts * Good working knowledge of JCT contracts, or bespoke contracts based on JCT principles * Candidates with Commercial Manager-level experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered for a higher package Salary & Benefits * Salary negotiable, in line with similar senior commercial roles * £300 per month car allowance (non-car, fixed) * Travel allowance (details available from the hiring manager) * Project bonus scheme (details available from the hiring manager) * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays * Pension with up to 8% employer contribution * Private healthcare * 24/7 employee assistance programme * Flexible benefits and discounts * Personal development programme To apply, please submit your CV or feel free to reach out for a confidential conversation.
