Quantity Surveyor

Quantity Surveyor Barrow-in-Furness £40,000 - £55,000 DOE An established and growing contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on a long-term maintenance contract based in Barrow-in-Furness. This is a site-based position supporting a large and complex operational facility, delivering a high volume of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and small works projects. The Role Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will be responsible for the commercial management of a busy maintenance contract, ensuring works are accurately priced, valued and managed through to completion. Due to the nature of the contract, previous Measured Term Contract (MTC) and Schedule of Rates (SOR) experience is essential. Key responsibilities include: Managing costs across planned and reactive maintenance works Pricing and valuation of works under Schedule of Rates contracts Managing variations and change control Producing cost reports and forecasts Managing subcontractor accounts Supporting operational teams with commercial guidance Preparing and agreeing final accounts Building strong client and stakeholder relationships Identifying commercial risks and opportunitiesRequirements Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor Essential: Measured Term Contract (MTC) and Schedule of Rates (SOR) experience Experience within building maintenance, construction, refurbishment or building fabric projects Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Full UK Driving LicencePackage £40,000 - £55,000 DOE Long-term secured contract Site-based role Growing and financially stable business Genuine progression opportunities Supportive commercial teamAdditional Information Due to the nature of the facility and projects being delivered, candidates must be comfortable working within a highly regulated environment and adhering to strict site procedures and security requirements.
