Senior Mechanical Project Manager – Pipework & Building Services Bristol Office 💷 £70,000–£90,000 + potential company car 🔄 Contract option: approximately £350–£400 per day ⏰ Full-time | 🚀 ASAP start I’m recruiting a Mechanical Project Manager for my client, a specialist mechanical contractor delivering commercial pipework and building-services projects across the UK. This is a senior delivery role that could also suit an experienced Mechanical Supervisor, Contracts Manager or Project Lead who is ready to take greater ownership of programmes, commercial performance and multiple project teams. The successful candidate will be predominantly based from the Bristol office, generally attending two to three times per week depending on workload. Regular travel to projects will be required, including sites in Bristol. The role You will oversee several mechanical projects and provide leadership to Project Managers, Site Managers and Supervisors, ensuring each project is properly planned, resourced and commercially controlled. Your responsibilities will include: ◆ Overseeing multiple mechanical and pipework projects ◆ Reviewing and managing project programmes ◆ Forecasting project performance, resources and completion dates ◆ Monitoring commercial performance, costs and profitability ◆ Supporting projects during pre-construction ◆ Reviewing project information, specifications and drawings ◆ Ordering materials and coordinating procurement ◆ Managing labour, subcontractors and site resources ◆ Overseeing Project Managers, Site Managers and Supervisors ◆ Attending sites to monitor progress, quality and programme ◆ Identifying project risks, delays and delivery constraints ◆ Liaising with clients, commercial teams and internal management ◆ Providing accurate progress and forecasting reports ◆ Driving projects through commissioning, completion and handover Project experience The company specialises exclusively in mechanical pipework and building services, including: ◆ Commercial office fit-outs ◆ New-build developments ◆ Heating and chilled-water systems ◆ Domestic water services ◆ Public health installations ◆ Plant rooms and associated pipework packages What my client is looking for ✔ Strong Mechanical Project Management, Contracts Management or senior site-delivery experience ✔ In-depth knowledge of commercial pipework and building services ✔ Confidence managing programmes, forecasting and commercial performance ✔ Experience overseeing Project Managers, Site Managers and Supervisors ✔ Strong knowledge of labour, procurement and material ordering ✔ Able to understand and take ownership of the complete project ✔ Comfortable working from an office and travelling to projects when required ✔ Experience within a Tier 1 contractor would be highly advantageous ✔ A trade background is welcomed but not essential ✔ Experience using Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject or similar programming software would be beneficial This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical professional who wants senior responsibility across multiple projects while remaining involved in both pre-construction and live delivery.
