Bestwood Advice Centre is recruiting enthusiastic and professional advisers to support people across Nottingham with welfare benefits, debt, budgeting and financial resilience. You’ll work with clients who may be vulnerable or distressed, so strong communication skills and a calm, supportive approach are essential. Much of the role is delivered at outreach locations, including foodbanks, so confidence working independently in community settings is important. We are looking for enthusiastic, professional and knowledgeable people with range of experience either from the money advice/welfare rights sector or with transferable skills. We want people who are enthusiastic about giving an effective service to those most in need. You will need to demonstrate that you can engage skilfully with clients who are vulnerable and distressed and have proven skills at working in a busy environment. You will be a highly motivated strong team player with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. You will have the ability to understand written and oral information of some complexity; have good numeracy skills sufficient to complete benefit applications and financial statements. You will be working for much of the time at outreach locations including foodbanks within the Nottingham area
