My valued client is seeking an electrical Engineer working within their Work Prep Team on their prestigious mining project in North Yorkshire. Shift Pattern: 7 on, 5 off, 5 on 4 off (day shifts) Holidays: 31 days, 24 rostered into days off, leaving 7 days to be taken freely Profile The planning, design, development, operational of electrical and automation (instrument and control) machinery and plant concepts in the shaft and mining sectors form a central part of this role This involves overseeing the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of complex technical facilities and large specialist equipment The role also encompasses the technical leadership of multinational teams and the coordination of subcontractors and suppliers Another key focus is ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, standards and licensing requirements; Furthermore, responsibility is assumed vis-à-vis technical regulatory authorities; Contributing to occupational safety concepts and conducting technical risk analyses are also part of the role; In addition, you will support conventional and mechanised shaft sinking methods, and all the related to the shaft sinking process equipment like winders, winches, ventilation etc and ensure their smooth operation Close collaboration with mechanical, mining, engineering and another departments, particularly in the field of control and drive technology, rounds off the role Requirements A degree in engineering, e.g. in electrical / automation engineering or a comparable field, is required; Ideally, you will have several years’ professional experience in mining, shaft construction or related sectors such as tunnelling, specialist civil engineering or the electrical and automation engineering of specialised equipment A knowledge and experience of the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of electrical and automation engineering systems is essential for this role; Additionally, preferable you will have experience in dealing with international regulations such as the Machinery Directive or common DIN/EN/ISO/TAS/BS standards; A solid understanding of occupational safety requirements is essential; Knowledge of electrical and automation systems and modern control technology is an advantage You are characterised by your ability to work in a team, strong leadership skills and intercultural competence Willingness to travel both domestically and abroad as part of the role Candidates must have valid Right to Work in the UK either British or Irish Passport or a valid UK Share code with no restrictions to working.
